If CdG was more like it was in pnp, where it's DC 10 + damage dealt, and the hit is an automatic crit, it would be less of an issue easily hit DC 50, more if you've got a x3 or x4 weapon.Īlthough that being said, rules as written for pnp actually states that they flat out can't die: " they can't die as long as their regeneration is still functioning (although creatures with regeneration still fall unconscious when their hit points are below 0).". It's not that you can't deal with regenerators, but I don't see why you can't simply keep beating on their bodies with regular attacks until they eventually die. You can (actually mentioned it in the spoiler bit), but the save DC is way less than it was in tabletop, and enemies with regeneration tend to have rather high fortitude save. If you can get them down to -50% or -100% of their max health. I really don't think they're going to come back from that. If you turn a regenerating creature into nothing but paste. I get that it's normally there for things like trolls that can put an arm back on or whatever, but you should eventually be able to kill regenerators through pure damage. Honestly regeneration is implemented very badly in this ruleset, IMO. When they're down every hit is pretty much a guaranteed hit, and does precision damage, so greybor with 7 attacks per round was able to grind them down pretty quick at 2 str damage per hit. Another option you can use besides coup de grace (especially since CdG is so nerfed compared to tabletop) is attribute damage if you have a slayer or rogue with str or con damage on sneak attack, this can kill them eventually. I just ran a shock weapon on one of my party members, had them finish off the ones that were downed. You do need some kind of way to kill them besides pure damage, at least on Core. I think she does have an unrelated mini-quest that is triggered by talking to her on the 2nd floor of the inn in Act 3, and which may well expire if not completed then. I'm not even sure it can be completed in Act 3.

I'm in Act 5, and it's still active, and I didn't advance it in Act 3. This may be a bug that they fixed - the labeling, I mean - but that one does apparently fail if not done in Chapter 3, and it's alone way off at the bottom of the map (which is why I left it for later chapters).Įdit - oh, and Nenio's quest also isn't flagged as expiring, and that one can wait until later chapters. When the companion quests appear, I think they are almost invariably marked with the "complete this this chapter" flag, with the exception of Sosiel's - and that is a lie, because I trusted the labeling and saw his quest fail at the start of Act 4. Finish the ivory sanctum towards the end - if you do it too early, there's some dissonance in the narrative, and some quests may even fail. I think if you just play through the quests that expire in Act 3 (and yes, there are probably too many), all of the companion quests should trigger. Other may be simply triggered by specific dates. I believe a couple are triggered by completing the ivory sanctum questline, including Daeran's quest.
